FAQs
Do I need a therapist or a coach?
It can be challenging to know whether you need therapy or a coach. While clients often experience their work with their Coach as therapeutic, it is not considered therapy. If you have questions about whether therapy or Story Work coaching would be best for you, one of our Coaches can help you determine this in your consultation call.
Does insurance cover the Flexible Connection Membership?
No. Because Story Work coaching is not considered therapy, insurance companies are not involved. While this does affect your out-of-pocket cost, the benefit is that you don’t need a mental health diagnosis to be able to work toward your healing and growth.
Am I too old or too young for this?
Many clients worry that their age prohibits them from being able to heal. Katie has worked with clients in their 20s and clients in their 80s; it’s never too early or too late to understand your Story step into freedom.
Are all of the Lead to Healing Coaches also licensed therapists?
No, but all of our Coaches receive regular supervision from Katie, who is a licensed therapist. Katie believes that, while therapy serves a good purpose for people with a mental health diagnosis, most of us simply need a guide who has “done their own work” and is ahead of us on the journey (unfortunately, therapists, counselors and coaches are often not required to do the hard work of healing in order to work with others). Katie carefully vets the coaches she works with, and they are responsible for maintaining high levels of training and for consistently pursuing their own personal health and growth.
